BLYTHE
DJ Blythe started dancing in Berkeley, California in the 70s with the Hare Krishnas. When not basking in the raw elemental energies of north Kohala, Blythe's avatar has the day job of a meditation teacher and author. At sundown however, Blythe emerges as dance prana fanning a hot mix of world music, deep house and American soul. Blythe welcomes your offerings of inhibition, anxiety, shyness, stuckness and grief as fuel to feed the conflagration of unbridled joy we share in the temple of Kohala Rhythm Sanctuary.

DJ NTU: DJ/Percussionist/Producer with an attraction towards Afro based Electronic music from around the world: Afro House, Amapiano, 3 Step (Gqom), Afrobeats, Latin Tech, Baile Funk, Reggaeton, Dembow, Moobahton, Dancehall, Soca, Hip-Hop, Twerk, and Deep House.
He also incorporates acoustic, percussive instruments like the Djembe LIVE into his DJ sets for a unique dance experience like no other!

What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic dance is a free-form dance movement inspired and led by carefully crafted music with the intention of creating a healing journey. The music follows a wave form, starting slow, moving to a peak, and descending into stillness. No dance experience or partner is necessary or needed.
In Ecstatic dance participants gather to dance to music without the need of following the instructions of a leader. In Ecstatic Dance the music is the leader, and participants are free to weave their way through the music.
Ecstatic dance is an environment without observers, judgements, attitudes, conversations, shoes, alcohol, or substances. A space where everyone can feel safe to be spontaneous and move however their body wishes.
The intention of Rhythm Sanctuary is to create a safe and open space for freestyle dance movement, where individuals are encouraged to engage in a somatic journey both internally and with community.
